April 2024 | President's Message

Another Purim celebration has gone down in history! Watch for the photos in next month’s issue. Rabbi Geier and Rabbi Schaktman shared the reading of the Megillah and the name of Haman was successfully drowned out from the noise of the groggers. The food, drink, costumes, décor and entertainment made the evening a fun success. Thank you to Temple Emanu-El for hosting this community event.

Our community Seder on Erev Passover will be at 7:15PM on April 22nd at the JCC. Please plan and reservations should be made NOW, so we will be able to prepare accordingly. An accurate count is necessary for seating availability and ordering food.

THE DEADLINE IS APRIL 12TH!

The Annual Helen and Leon Holocaust Memorial Lecture will be on May 9th at 7:30PM. Look for more information about the speaker in this edition of the Times. Do not be a Bystander! Especially at this time of tumult in our world, please encourage any middle school or high school students to write an essay for the Helen and Leon Sperling Holocaust Memorial Essay Contest. You can find the details in this issue

of the Temple Times. Awards will be presented on May 9th at the annual lecture.

When was the last time you were called to the Torah? A donation of your time for minyan would be greatly appreciated on a Shabbat morning. Rabbi Geier’s service offers engagement, song, discussion and even humor at times. Afterwards, a kiddish is served to go along with some schmoozing. We hope to see you on Saturday. Yizkor will be observed on April 30th during the morning service which begins at 9:30AM.
